1. About these terms
These terms apply when you buy votes on tixandvotes, which is operated by Mackelpas Nigeria Limited (RC 1330755) (“we”, “us”). You must tick the box agreeing to them, and to our privacy policy, before you pay. We record the version you accepted, with the time.
Each competition is run by its organizer, not by us. We provide the voting pages and take the payments; the organizer decides the contestants, the rules, the winners and any prizes.
2. How voting works
- Each vote costs the price shown for its category. The total you pay is the votes multiplied by that price, plus a processing fee that covers the cost of taking the payment. You see the full total before you pay.
- One payment can buy up to the number of votes shown for that category. You can vote again with another payment, as many times as you like, unless the organizer's rules say otherwise.
- Your votes count only once your payment is confirmed. Card payments usually confirm within seconds; bank transfers and USSD can take a few minutes. We email a receipt when your votes count.
- A payment started before voting closes still counts if it is confirmed within 60 minutes of the close. A payment confirmed later than that is not counted, and we refund it.
- Vote counts may be hidden while voting is open if the organizer chooses. Every paid vote is still counted, and the counts are shown when voting closes.
3. Votes are final
Once counted, votes can't be cancelled, refunded, or moved to another contestant, including if you picked the wrong contestant, change your mind, or a contestant withdraws or is disqualified. Please check the contestant's name and number before you pay.
4. Refunds
We refund you in full if you were charged but your votes were not counted (for example a payment that arrived after the close), or if you were charged twice for the same checkout. See the refund policy for how to ask and how long it takes.
5. Fair voting
- Pay only with cards and accounts you are allowed to use.
- Don't use scripts, bots or other automated means to vote, and don't try to get votes counted without paying.
- Don't reverse a payment with your bank (a chargeback) for votes that were counted. Votes from reversed, fraudulent or stolen payments are removed, and we may block further voting from the same details.
- We may pause a competition, or limit voting from addresses that look like abuse, to keep results fair.
6. Results and prizes
Results on the page are the count of paid votes. The organizer is responsible for how votes decide the winner (some competitions also use judges), for announcing the results, and for any prizes. Questions about prizes or rules go to the organizer.
7. Not gambling
Buying votes is a way to support a contestant. It is not a bet, a lottery or a game of chance, and you don't win money by voting.
8. Our responsibility
We work to keep voting available and counts accurate, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted. If something goes wrong on our side, our responsibility is limited to refunding payments that weren't counted. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law that can't be limited.
9. Changes and contact
